As most of you know, I am in the medical field and by default, I am a compulsive hand washer. I have taught my children to be compulsive hand washers and therefor, our family goes through a lot of soap very easily.
Now, I love the expensive foaming hand soaps you find at the mall. I love the entire experience of shopping and smelling each bottle. The problem for my family is, we go through so much hand soap that I cant keep up with the supply and demand. We are constantly running out.
So one day, I decided to research making my own foam hand soap. Yes!… You too can make your own foam hand soap. Now, I am not a Pinterest worthy mom so fear not… this DIY is so so easy and it is only 4 ingredients including a foam hand dispenser.

Ingredients
Foaming soap dispenser bottle- I purchased the pump and used a glass jar I already have.
12 oz. boiled or filtered water
2 Tablespoons liquid Castile soap
(unscented if you add scented oils)1/2 teaspoon liquid oil – I used Vitamin E because it is known to nourish and protect the skin from free radicals
6-8 drops essential oil of choice – I like Thieves, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit… mix and match
Directions
- Sanitize bottle dispenser. I used glass so I steamed in boiling water for ten minutes.
- Fill foaming soap dispenser with water first.
- Pour in liquid Castile soap.
- Add oil and essential oils.
- Gently swirl bottle to mix the oils. DO NOT shake.
